Cruise With the Angels 2012

Thanks to the support of hundreds of people, this year’s Auction, “Cruise with the Angels”, was wildfully successful!!! Over 320 guests came to the event. A big thanks go to the Beta Sigma Phi, a service sorority who volunteered at the event and to Olivia Kormeier, Chairperson and Kathy Gough, Vice Chairperson. The key to the Auction’s success is their hard work and dedication.

Every year at the Auction, GASA honors an individual and a company for outstanding support to the agency. This year’s Angel Award winners were Centric Group and Kathi and Ken Tacony of Tacony Corporation.

The event’s success was due in large part to our sponsors: Ameren Missouri, Nestle Purina PetCare Company, Monsanto, Arch Coal, Mavrik Fine Jewelry, Proctor & Gamble, and Tacony Corporation. In addition, GASA was supported by many VIP Tables: Ascension Health; Barnes Jewish Hospital; Amy and Bill Hinderer; Lauretta and Kevin Holloway; Olivia Kormeier and Jim Cornelison; Novus Internationa Inc.; Janet and Tom O’Connell; Rubin Brown; Seyer State Farm Agency; Simpson Construction; Switch; Kathi and Ken Tacony and Michelle and Mike Todt.

The mood was festive with music provided by Nigel Thomas of Steel Drum Flavor and a photo booth provided by ShutterBooth St. Louis. Guests were well liquidated thanks to the generous beverage donations from John D. McGurk’s Irish Pub & Restaurant and Dave Henson of AB-InBev. Again this year, Rene Knott from NewsChannel 5 was the Master of Ceremonies and Mark Howald from Ivey-Selkirk Auctioneers conducted the live auction.

In total, “Cruise with the Angels’ raised over $188,000 toward Guardian Angel’s mission of helping low-income families, the elderly, and children in St. Louis City. Additionally, numerous donors contributed to the Fund-A-Need Campaign wich raised more than $59,000!

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered and sponsored the event.
