The mission of Guardian Angel Settlement Association is to serve people living in poverty by helping them improve the quality of their lives and achieve economic independence.
Guardian Angel Settlement Association (GASA) has been serving those in need for more than 150 years. Established in 1859 by the Daughters of Charity as an orphanage for young immigrant girls, we have evolved into an agency serving children, teens, families and older adults.
We work daily to educate and empower those we serve through appropriate programs and services. We are a constant sign of hope in the inner city due largely to the effort and support of the board of directors, support of the United Way, a dedicated and professional staff as well as numerous volunteers throughout the St. Louis area who devote more than 11,000 hours annually.
